China’s wine industry, despite years of doubt and disbelief, has transformed at a rapid pace into the premier wine industry in Asia. Although imported wines are increasing in China, public opinion of domestic wine, an enormous industry, are also improving. As vineyards in China grow, many Chinese wine labels have expressed their hope for the industry. This is not always echoed by experts, who cite a difficult climate and still large quality problems as issues holding Chinese wine back from global success, but it is clear that the industry has large potential, if it continues on its current trajectory.
