Spring frost costed wineries this past season. France’s wine production is expected to decrease around 18 percent this year. Last year, 2016 was one of the lowest harvests in 30 years. The drop in production is a result of the spring frost in various locations. In order to reverse the effects of the frost, winemakers set fires in oil drums and positioned them carefully in between the rows of the newly budding plants and grape vines.
