Tourism in Paris France steeply declined after the 2015 terrorist attacks. By the end of 2016 this decline has rebounded and in some cases exceeded levels seen prior to 2015. Hotel guests staying in Paris in January of 2017 have exceeded the number of hotel guests in the same month in 2014. Additionally, by December of 2016, there were more American and Chinese tourists visiting Paris than prior to the terrorist attacks that caused the reduction in visitors to this city. Tourists seem to have adjusted to the fact that visiting foreign cities will never be completely safe.
